After Kibena, Amani, and Kiduchu learn that university education is expensive, they begin raising money by doing chores. When they are late in watering Ms. Mlea's garden, Ms. Mlea angrily promises to tell everyone not to trust Kibena, Kiduchu, and Amani. The girls now have to find another way to raise the money. In the process, they end up learning about investing.
